ABOUT USHistoryWe have been in Forest Lake for just under 10 years. You may have seen us in numerous community locations. We used to be known as Lakewood Christian Church. Our motto is to love God, love people and love life. We believe in one God, who inspired the writing of the Bible – our foundational document. We have programs for youth and children. We also run events for Men, Women, fundraising, community action etc. Elevate is a contemporary and relevant church for the whole family.

Pastor John and Lorette Stewart have been married for 30 years and have two daughters, Emma and Victoria. Emma recently married a lovely young man, Josh Henderson. Victoria runs our youth group which is called Elevate Youth.
John completed a Certificate of Youth Ministry in 1991 and graduated from Bible College in 2003 with a Diploma of Ministry. Both John and Lorette have a great passion to see people of all ages reach their destiny and live their lives with purpose, integrity and influence. Their commitment to the Cause of Christ is displayed by their ability to continually place value on men, women and children – in both the community and the church. They both enjoy cycling, surfing, gym and doing coffee with friends. They have lived in and taken part in the local community of Forest Lake since 1994. Involvement in the area of marriage and family ministry in the local church has always been their long term focus. In 1999 they felt God speak to them about planting a church in Forest Lake and Elevate Christian Church was born.
